Evocative Practice for Coaches & Counsellors
WELCOME TO OUR WORLD
There's something sacred about the space we create when helping someone work through their experience of being human. We're meeting them in a way they might never have been met before to engage them in an inquiry that transforms us both.
In traditional coach and counsellor training, a great deal of emphasis is placed on tools, techniques, methodologies, and knowledge. While these are important (and we do incorporate these), this emphasis can miss the importance of developing our ability to be deeply present for what is occurring - within us as well as for our client.
Deep Spaces programs are a personal journey of deeper presence, noticing, curiosity, and purposeful exploration and discovery. These are what make for powerful coaching and counselling, and they happen from the inside out. Which is why our programs are experiential, interactive, and reflective.
Just as we seek to "touch the spot" or "nudge the edge" with our clients, so too must we do that for ourselves if we are going to unleash our potential as coaches and counsellors. Our training is rigorous and challenging while also well supported and playful. We believe learning, like life, is best experienced in a spirit of togetherness and fun.
I came to coaching and counselling having spent thirty years in community consultation, facilitation, social advocacy, and executive leadership for business, government, and non-profit organizations – and twenty years recovering from my own addiction and mental health challenges. In both the professional and personal realms, I understand how off track we can become, how much despair we can experience, and how true freedom is possible, from within.
As a professional certified coach and registered professional counsellor with my own thriving practice, Be & Become, I love inviting people into a deep space of inquiry and gently challenging them to create profound shifts for themselves.
STACEY HUGET, PCC, RPC
As a trainer and facilitator, I've a passion for teaching and working with aspiring coaches and counsellors to hone their capacity for depth – as well as for helping them experience greater confidence and joy in their practice.
I’ve always had the desire to understand myself more fully. Many of my life pursuits have had this desire at their core. I have a background in music and performing and used creativity as an avenue to know myself better. Another was the Enneagram, a system that helps us see past our personality to glimmers or our true self. My sense of self, my search for an identity, were revealed as twisted-mirror reflections of the deeper, truer self I’d been looking for, and that my personality is a distorted attempt to reconnect with my true self.
This process led me to coaching and counselling. My training was
experiential, which invited and supported me to do a deeper exploration of
my issues, beliefs, stories, and shadows. This has a been a long and ongoing process for me, and it’s a privilege to support, witness and encourage others in their processes.
